Động từ tường thuật theo mẫu (offer, refuse, deny, apologise, accuse)
Thay vì chỉ dùng said/told, có thể tường thuật bằng động từ mang nghĩa cụ thể hơn. Mỗi động từ đi theo một mẫu cố định: offer/refuse/promise/agree + to V; deny/admit + V-ing; apologise + for + V-ing; accuse + O + of + V-ing.

offer/refuse/promise/agree + to V. deny/admit + V-ing. apologise (to + người) + for + V-ing. accuse + O + of + V-ing.
Khi nào dùng
Dùng trong biên bản họp, email tóm tắt: 'The supplier offered to cut the price', 'He denied leaking the data', 'She apologised for missing the deadline'.

The supplier offered to deliver the goods free of charge.
Nhà cung cấp đề nghị giao hàng miễn phí.
He apologised for sending the wrong file.
Anh ấy xin lỗi vì đã gửi nhầm tệp.
The client accused the company of breaking the contract.
Khách hàng cáo buộc công ty vi phạm hợp đồng.

The manager refused signing the contract.
The manager refused to sign the contract.
He denied to leak the information.

Lưu ý
- Hai nhóm hay nhầm: offer/refuse/promise/agree + to V; còn deny/admit + V-ing.
- 'Apologise' cần 'for' trước V-ing và cần 'to' trước người: 'apologise to the client for the delay'.
