Last year, my company sent me to Singapore for a three-day technology conference. It was my first business trip abroad1, and I still remember it clearly.
On the first day, I attended talks about online payment systems and took a lot of notes. On the second day, I had to present2 our company's mobile app to a group of investors. I was very nervous at first, but3 the audience asked useful questions and two investors asked for our contact details.
In the evenings, I explored the city with colleagues from Thailand and Indonesia. We tried local food at hawker centres and shared stories about our jobs.
This trip taught me that4 careful preparation makes presenting much easier. It also showed me how valuable it is to build a network5 outside my own country.
