AOver the past decade, remote work has moved from a rare perk to a standard option at many companies. Surveys suggest that around one in three office employees now works from home at least two days a week.
BSupporters point to clear benefits. Employees save commuting time, and many report being able to concentrate better without interruptions. Companies, in turn, can reduce spending on office space, which is often one of their largest costs.
CHowever, working remotely is not without problems. Managers say it is harder to build trust within new teams, and junior staff often miss the informal advice they would get by sitting next to experienced colleagues.
DAs a result, many firms are choosing a hybrid model, asking staff to come to the office on fixed days. Early evidence indicates that this compromise keeps most of the flexibility while protecting teamwork.
