AActive listening means fully paying attention to what a coworker is saying, instead of silently preparing your own reply while they are still talking, which is a habit many people fall into without realising it.
BOne simple sign of active listening is asking a follow-up question that shows you actually understood, such as "so you're saying the delay was caused by the supplier, not our team?" rather than just nodding along.
CPutting away phones and closing other browser tabs during a conversation, even a short one, also signals to the other person that they currently have your full attention, which most people notice and appreciate.
DActive listening does not mean agreeing with everything said. It simply means understanding the other person's point clearly first, before deciding whether you agree, which usually leads to a more useful conversation overall.
