ANegotiating by email feels safer to many people than negotiating on a call, since there is time to think before replying, but written messages also lose tone of voice, which can easily be misread as cold or even rude.
BA short email meant to sound efficient, such as "That price does not work for us," can come across as blunt or dismissive, even if the sender simply wanted to save the reader's time.
CAdding a little more context, like "We've reviewed the proposal and the price is a bit higher than our current budget allows — could we discuss options?" keeps the same message but sounds far more collaborative.
DReading an important email aloud before sending, or waiting a few minutes if the topic feels tense, often catches a tone that could unintentionally damage an otherwise reasonable negotiation.
