ABuilding a personal brand at work used to be associated mainly with freelancers or executives, but increasingly ordinary employees are discovering that being visible for specific skills, even within a single company, can shape which projects and opportunities come their way.
BA commonly cited first step is simply keeping an online profile accurate and current, since a surprising number of professionals are discovered internally for new projects through a search rather than a direct recommendation from someone they already know.
CSharing short, genuine updates about a completed project, rather than vague self-promotion, tends to be received far better by colleagues, who can usually tell the difference between someone showcasing real work and someone simply seeking attention.
